ADB offers loans, grants, and technical assistance from Special Funds, Trust Funds, and other sources to help reduce poverty in Asia’s poorest countries.
The Japan Fund for Public Policy Training was established in 2004 as a trust fund to enhance developing member countries' capacity building for public policy management focusing on Asian economies in transition.
Priority is placed on providing regional technical assistant (RETA) to transition economies such as Cambodia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), and Viet Nam.
The key activities of the RETA include:

Japan supports the fund.
