Description
Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The proposed TA responds to the request of the Government of the Philippines to reduce food insecurity and malnutrition of vulnerable households by improving their access to healthy food. President Marcos Ferdinand Jr. publicly announced the food voucher as a new high priority government initiative on 22 May 2023. The TA is aligned with the country partnership strategy for the Philippines, 20182023, which supports expanding social protection under the strategic priority of Investing in Filipinos. The new country partnership strategy, 20242029 being prepared will continue to advance this priority. It will complement the ADB-supported Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino conditional cash transfer program.
