Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy | The government has announced series of initiatives to restore the financial viability of DISCOMs and operational performance. These reforms are designed to address the immediate cashflow problems due to COVID-19 and address some of the structural and institutional impediments to improved performance of DISCOMs. The programmatic approach PBL is appropriate as the Government of India has a clearly articulated comprehensive reform program and the programmatic approach PBL provides ADB an opportunity to engage with central government and state governments in a sequential manner to ensure the proposed reforms are implemented. | ||||||||||||||||||
