Cambodia : Tonle Sap Poverty Reduction and Smallholder Development Project
The ensuing Project will contribute to reduction of rural poverty, improvement in the socio-economic condition, and enhance quality of life of the poor by enhancing the productivity and income growth of rural households, and supporting diversification of agriculture through improved access to technology and markets in the three Tonle Sap provinces namely, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom and Kampong Cham. The TA prepare an agreed-upon design for the Project that will result in (i) increased use and non-use value of natural resources through improved environment management in utilization of agricultural, flooded-forest and fishery resources in the Tonle Sap basin; (ii) accelerated growth of income of the rural poor through improved productivity and diversification; (iii) increased participation of the rural poor in the domestic and international product and labor market; and (iv) integration of the rural poor into tourism and ecotourism development through production for and supply to the tourist market.

Consulting Services | The TA will require about 48 person-months (pm) of consulting services comprising 20 pm of international and 28 pm of national consultants with the following expertise (i) Agricultural and Natural Resource Economist (Team Leader); (ii) Institutional and Social Development Specialist; (iii) Agricultural Marketing Specialist; (iv) Biosecurity, Environmental and Public Health Assessment Specialist Specialist; (v) ICT for Rural Development Specialist; and (iv) Financial and Economic Analyses Specialist. The consultants will be recruited according to ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants. |
