Pakistan Economic Corridors Programme

What is the fund?

The Pakistan Economic Corridors Programme focuses on regional connectivity and trade. The fund is expected to promote economic growth, create jobs and contribute to regional stability.

What are the priorities?

The fund aims to promote economic growth, job creation, and regional trade. This will enable the implementation of a significantly larger level of infrastructure investment in the Pakistan economy and close the infrastructure gap more rapidly.

What kinds of activities are eligible for the fund?

Grants will finance the following:

  • investment projects for transport;
  • investment projects and technical assistance for Public-Private Partnership; and
  • technical assistance to support transport.

Who is eligible to receive the fund?

Pakistan is eligible to receive the fund. Pakistan provides the closest sea access to Afghanistan, Central Asian Republics, and the western part of People’s Republic of China. Thus, investments in Pakistan’s transport infrastructure have the potential to significantly stimulate economic activity.

Who supports the fund?

The United Kingdom supports the fund.
