Project Preparation and Implementation Support Trust Fund

What is the fund?

The Project Preparation and Implementation Support Trust Fund (PPISTF) is a single-donor trust fund established in 2022. It provides technical assistance (TA) grants for project preparation to both non-sovereign and sovereign operations.

What are the priorities?

The fund will help:

  • build a pipeline of well-prepared, technically sound investment projects, and
  • achieve full and timely project results to intended beneficiaries.

What kinds of activities are eligible for the fund?

The Fund will support project readiness activities, i.e., activities prior to ADB and OPEC Fund approval of the project that aim to:

  • improve project preparation including both design- and procurement-readiness,
  • help DMCs build a pipeline of well-prepared and technically and financially sound, and
  • reduce start-up and implementation delays so that expected results are fully achieved and on time.

Who is eligible to receive the fund?

The following eligible ADB developing member countries can avail of the fund: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Lao PDR, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam.

Who supports the fund?

The OPEC Fund for International Development supports the fund.
