ADBI Invites Journalists to Apply for the Developing Asia Journalism Awards
ADBI, with support of The Rockefeller Foundation, invites journalists from Asia and the Pacific to enter the Developing Asia Journalism Awards (DAJA). The Awards are an initiative to promote works of journalism that accurately report on global efforts advancing sustainable development amid intensifying climate risks. Application is now open for the region’s reporters to submit compelling stories on food security, health preparedness and resilience, or macrofinancial stability in connection with climate change. The winners will be invited to a ceremony in Tokyo to receive a certificate and a $1,000 cash prize. The selection committee will include representatives from regional and global media organizations, a former ADB President, and other prominent figures working in sustainable development. ADBI’s Latest Book Guides Policy Paths for Digital-driven Sustainable Growth in Asia
Digital Transformation for Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Asia explores how digitalization can be harnessed to advance sustainable development amid the widening digital divide in Asia and the Pacific. At a launch event on 25 January jointly hosted by the National University of Singapore’s Institute of South Asian Studies, a panel of the book’s contributors discussed the region’s disparity in digital access and how it impedes cross-border connectivity and transformation. They underscored how incorporating education, skills training, and international collaboration in policy dynamics is needed to ensure the equitable benefits of digital transformation. The event in Singapore was attended by stakeholders from the private sector, policy officials, and experts.
