NARO's Role

NARO acts as a liaison between ADB’s Headquarters in Manila and policymakers and major stakeholders in the United States and Canada. Based in Washington, DC, NARO works to:

Raise public awareness in the United States and Canada about ADB and the Asia-Pacific region.

Icon: Mobilize resources

Mobilize resources and support from the public and private sectors in North America for ADB operations.

Icon: Knowledge sharing

Share development knowledge and experience and strengthen collaboration with other multilateral institutions based in North America.

Canada has contributed $7.39 billion in capital subscription to ADB as of 31 December 2022. It has also contributed and committed $2.21 billion to ADB’s Special Funds since becoming a member.
